Well, today was the day that the doctor finally fixed Eva's plugged tear duct. It was one of the hardest things I have had to experience with her thus far. We all got up at about 5:45 this morning and left for the hospital at 6:00. She was admitted and brought to the back room where we put on the cutest little pj's. She had a lot of fun at first. Playing peek-a-boo with her dad and waving at all the people while in her little waiting room. She hated however, the bracelet they made her wear and strangers trying to touch her. Then, they brought in some drugs that were supposed to make her loopy but she didn't seem too loopy to me. We joked that she might need some more but they didn't give her anymore. They took her away from me and began the surgery. The doctor told me they had a hard time getting the IV into her little chubby hands and foot so her body has bruises from them poking her. The surgery went well. Luckily, the doctor only had to poke her and didn't have to put a tube in her eye. When she came out of the surgery she was not happy to say the least. They put all the patients in this same recovery room and I don't think Eva let other people recover too well. She was inconsolable and that was the worst. I felt sooo helpless. I was worried she would be that way all day because after they took off the IV and all the contraptions that were on her, it still didn't make her happier but got her one step closer to going home. We brought her home and after two naps she has her fun, loving, self again. We are so thankful to have Eva in our lives and are glad that we are done with this phase in her life.
The picture above doesn't show too much the extent of the surgery but shows her sour mood. Her eye was swollen after the surgery but now seems better. In case you are curious it is the left eye, when looking at the picture.
Oh, and excuse the quality of the picture. I had to send my camera back to Nikon so that they could fix my flash :( I am using my old camera. Did I mention I miss my Nikon?
