Our district is in the process of opening three new elementary schools this coming school year. Because of that, they have allowed teachers in the district to play a part in the planning committees for the new schools. They asked people interested to apply to be on the planning teams. So, I decided that I couldn't pass up the opportunity and applied to one of the new schools to be a team leader. This position is going to work in a small team with the new principal of the school making decisions about the new school. As far as my understanding, they will assist in hiring the entire school. And, if you are accepted you will automatically be working in the new school. Well, after interviewing and feeling really good about my interview I was able to get one of the team leader positions. What does this mean? It means, one, I am no longer going to be at Henry next year, and two, I will not be teaching in Spanish for the coming school year. I have mixed feelings about getting the position. I am really excited for what this is going to do to my resume. It isn't too often around here that you have the opportunity to open up a new school. I am excited about teaching in a place with brand new everything. I am excited to be working in a school that won't have brown water coming out of the pipes at school. But I am sad that I won't be teaching in Spanish. Not to mention the fact that Matthew will be applying to D.O./Med school this year and I don't really know if I will even get the chance to work at the new school. For now though, I will for sure be doing the planning for the new school and helping in putting it together and the rest I am going to put in Heavenly Father's hands.
What's a blog without a picture in my opinion.

Verenice, it sounds like an awesome opportunity. Hopefully you will get to do it. Where is Matt applying? (By the way, that picture is so sweet! Two gorgeous girls.)
Congratulations! Of course you got the job, who wouldn't hire you? I always have mixed feelings about change...hopefully this one will be a good one for you!
Congrats! That's a really great opportunity and I really hope you get to work there (I really hope you guys stay around!) Zach and I were just lamenting about the fact that we don't see you guys as much as we'd like to.
GREAT picture, it makes me smile when I look at it :)
You are so rad, Verenice! You're hard working, talented, beautiful, smart, spiritual, an amazing mom/wife, and the most normal person I know...well, probably because I don't know you well enough yet ;) Hope you guys can stay!!!
