Poor Baby
Okay, so I am not trying to publish evidence of child abuse but I thought I would show you guys what we mean by Eva being a little dare devil. She's gotten really good at slidding down the stairs at her abuelita's house, something she really mastered at her Grandma Carla's house. Well, the other day while Matthew was "watching" her, she managed to catch her leg on a step. She then proceeded to do some sort of twist in the air and fall about a foot from the step, face first onto the hard wood floor. OUCH! I know this is hard to believe but I swear nobody pushed her down the stairs. We felt so bad, she had the BIGGEST bump on her head. Then, to top it off she had her eighteen month appointment this last Monday and I was afraid they would report us to child protective services. Don't worry, they didn't. You might be interested to know though that she is in the 90-95th percentile for both her height and weight at a whoppen(sp?) 27 pounds, but her head you might ask? Only the 75th percentile. I wonder if all the falls to her head have any effect on this?

Eva's in Nursery
Eva's been to nursery a couple times now and she hasn't been too successful. The first time, she was so horrible that Matthew had to walk out with her in the halls. The second time she mangaged to stay by herself the third hour but she was a little "sad" and was only content if someone held her the entire time. And today, her third time thus far, Matthew stayed with her the entire time and he says she kept coming to him crying for no reason at random times. Not sure how you get your child to like it there. Matthew even made her crown for her today. He's such a good colorer :) Well, no matter what I think she makes one cute child of God, like her little crown says. The joy of transitions.

Locks of love here we come...
On new years eve Eva and I went in and got our hair cut. I decided that it was time for a change. I know you can't really tell on Eva's pictures but her hair was pretty out of control. Now she can actually see without having her hair put up in a pony tail that she doesn't even like and I am stuck with a hair do that I have to blow dry and straighten daily. How do you girls keep your hair so nice?
This picture was taken after my hair was cut and Eva was going to be next. You can kind of see her mullet if you look closely.
These pictures aren't very good, kind of silly I think, but they give you an idea of her new bob. We kind of think she looks like a little boy and she makes us laugh.

Christmas with snow in Sisters
I am going to begin by saying that there were some other cute pictures of Eva in the snow and of Christmas but I got sooo annoyed that I couldn't figure out how to rotate them, even after I would rotate them that I gave up. I will load them on our picasa page so you can check them out later. But if you know what I am talking about and can help I would love advice because this happens to me often. Only on the pictures that I take vertical. Help!
Now that I have vented, this year, like most years we spent Christmas Eve in Hillsboro with my parents and then Christmas Day with extra days in Sisters with Matthew's parents. We had fun even though our child was not cooperating. She woke up every night we were there at about 3 in the morning, wouldn't fall back asleep in her own bed after that so she would have to sleep in bed with us. It sucked! I am hoping this is just a phase that she won't sleep anywhere that isn't her place or bathe for that matter. We had a hard time with her. But, now we are home enjoying one more week of vacation time until Matthew and I both have to go back to school/work. Look next time for Eva and I with our new hair do's.

Where's Eva?
It's been awhile since I have had a chance to blog. Here is one of the latest
things that Eva is doing. She has this green bucket that she received for a birthday party as a doggie bag that she LOVES to put on her head. She is actually getting really good at walking, I mean, waddling, along as she is blinded with her bucket. I have included proof that we do not put the bucket on her head, but instead that she chooses to put it on her own head. This girl makes me laugh!

Glencoe High School Boys Soccer: STATE CHAMPIONS
My baby brother Erik is a senior this year and they finished their soccer season undefeated and state champions!! Today was their big game and they won 2-1 in a real nail bitter, heart pounding and stressful game. We really get into it around here. They took out Bend (number one team in the state last year), Hilhi, Woodburn and many more teams along the way. We are all very excited and proud of him and his team.
Way to go Erik! We love you...
