We made yet another trip to Urgent Care today. I think we must travel to the doctor for emergencies than most people. Here's what happened. This morning Eva was playing with my wedding bands. I didn't want her to lose them, so I had to pry them out of her hands. Well, then I felt bad because I know she just wanted to wear what mama wears, so I went into my jewelry box and found her an old ring that she could wear. Matthew warned me not to give it to her but I didn't listen. Can you guess where this story is going? The next thing I knew she is choking on something and it was the ring. Matthew pounded her on the back but nothing came out. She had managed to swallow it without any problems. However, this was a tramautizing experience for Matthew because I guess Nathan swallowed a penny? You will have to explain to me later, Nathan. Anyway, we took her to urgent care and this is the bummer with having Kaiser, we didn't get to keep the x-ray, with a nice round ring in her tummy. They told us it wasn't a big deal. She will pass it in her poop. But for now we think it is funny that when you ask her where the ring went, she just opens her mouth wide for you to see that it went in her mouth. Kids do the craziest things sometimes; especially mine! Still working in aperature mode. This is where I can't stand the lighting in my house!

Oh, great. I guess it's either their mouth or their nose, right? Glad she's OK. At least it's not your wedding ring. I'm not sure I'd want to retreive that.
Well I'm glad she's ok. Good luck to Eva when it comes out! haha. I don't even know about this penny story..
Oh that's kind of funny! I'm glad it's not a serious problem! I want to know about the penny story now, too!
It's a miracle my little Emmy is still alive with all the crap she has put in her mouth. She is almost 15 months old and is still trying to eat ants. I don't remember having this problem with Meg... I had to call 911 once when she choked on one of Meg's oat clusters. She could still breathe but it was definitely stuck and I was afraid it was going to get lodged even more. I was so embarrassed when the fire truck, ambulence and police car parked right in front of our house. It seemed like everyone on our street was watching. The cluster worked it's way down before they even got here but it was still VERY scary.
About a month later, Courtney had to call 911 when Emmy had a seizure or something. They were like "Hey, we were just here". So embarrassing, but better to be safe than sorry.
Look at that beautiful hair! I am glad to see that it is not growing much faster than Lorelei's. I just seem to be jealous every-time I see a little girl with longer hair than my little girl, will I ever be able to put a pony tail on her head? Anyways, we are finally getting used to this blogging thing, I am glad everyone does it, it seems to be a great way to stay in touch and see what everyone is up to.
I can understand giving her a ring to play with. I now know why they put warning labels on plastic bags. When your kid is unhappy, you're thinking ,"what would she like to play with?...um... here's this nice plastic bag. I bet that would amuse her. Oh wait, there's a warning here that seemed silly when I didn't have kids. I guess a plastic bag probably isn't a good play toy."
Hey guys! You have no idea how happy I was/am to see all these pictures of you guys and Eva. I knew you had this blog going on, so I googled your name and it was the first one on the list. Its kind of creepy how easy it is to find people online. Anyway, I have been looking through all your pictures and reading all your stories and I must admit that it makes me miss being home that much more, so being here better pay off in the end I guess. When I read your story about the masteritis, and how my mom would say "thanks gots", I was laughing so hard that I started tearing up, haha. Well I hope everything is going well for you, Congratulations to both of you for graduating, and I will talk to you soon. Take care.
